Summer usually comes with some good intentions: slowing down, disconnecting a bit, organizing everything we’ve been putting off during the year<\/strong> and, with a bit of luck, returning in September with clearer ideas.<\/p>\n\n

But this year there is a guest who seems determined to come with us even to the beach: artificial intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Every week new tools appear, features that promise to save us hours, and headlines that remind us of everything we supposedly should already be doing. In the face of this noise, it may seem that disconnecting means falling behind<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Perhaps it is exactly the opposite.<\/p>\n\n

Summer can be a good time to stop chasing every new development<\/strong> and start asking ourselves what AI we really need, what we want it for, and what place it should occupy within our company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

This is our little manual to survive a summer with AI without losing your judgment \u2014or your vacation\u2014 along the way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

1. Don’t try to test everything<\/h2>\n\n

You don’t need to know every artificial intelligence tool that hits the market.<\/strong> In fact, trying to do so can end up generating more work than it saves.<\/p>\n\n

Working with AI is not about accumulating subscriptions, prompts, and applications<\/strong>. It consists of detecting a specific problem and assessing whether technology can help solve it better<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Before adopting a new tool, you can ask yourself three questions:<\/p>\n\n

  • What problem does it solve?<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Who will use it?<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • How will we know if it’s helping us?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    If there isn’t a clear answer, you probably don’t need a new tool. You need to understand the process better<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    Several studies on the interaction between people and generative systems indicate that AI does not always reduce workload<\/strong>: it can also shift it toward review, coordination, and constant evaluation of results.<\/p>\n\n

    2. Automate what shouldn’t go on vacation with you<\/h2>\n\n

    There are tasks that continue to exist even if part of the team is away: repetitive inquiries, request classification, data updates, sending notifications, or following up on certain processes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    These are good candidates for automation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    An AI agent can collect information, prepare responses, consult internal documentation, or trigger actions on other platforms. But the value is not that it “does things on its own”<\/strong>. The value is that it does so within a well-defined process, with clear limits and criteria<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

    The goal shouldn’t be to keep the company working at any cost while everyone rests. It should be to prevent people from returning from vacation to find a mountain of mechanical tasks waiting for them<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

    3. Connect artificial intelligence with the right information<\/h2>\n\n

    An isolated AI can write texts, propose ideas, or answer general questions. An AI connected to the company’s tools can go much further.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    It can consult information from an ERP, search for documentation, retrieve data from the CRM, check the status of an order, or start a process in another application. Technologies like MCP facilitate precisely this connection between AI models and the systems organizations work with<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

    But connecting doesn’t mean giving indiscriminate access to everything<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    It is necessary to decide what information the system needs, what it can do with it, which actions require validation, and who is responsible for the result<\/strong>. European guidelines on the responsible use of generative AI insist on principles such as human oversight, transparency, data protection, and accountability for decisions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

    Before putting AI to work, it’s advisable to get the house in order<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    4. Don’t delegate your judgment<\/h2>\n\n

    AI can summarize, compare, suggest, organize, and generate. But that doesn’t mean it should make all the decisions<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

    Especially when a response affects clients, employees, sensitive data, budgets, or strategic decisions, human judgment remains essential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    Supervision shouldn’t consist solely of reviewing the result at the end. It’s better to design the process from the beginning<\/strong> and determine: <\/p>\n\n

    • When the system can act automatically.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • When it must request validation.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • What should happen when it doesn’t have enough information.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Who assumes responsibility for the decision.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      The best AI is not the one that removes people from the process<\/strong>. It is the one that allows them to dedicate their time to decisions where they truly add value<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

      5. Watch what you tell it<\/h2>\n\n

      In summer we slow down, but we shouldn’t lower our guard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      Copying internal information, client data, contracts, or sensitive documents into an AI tool without knowing how they will be treated can generate significant risks<\/strong>. Before using a platform, you must review its terms, permissions, data location, and privacy policies<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

      It is also important for the team to have shared rules<\/strong>. It’s not very useful to have an impeccable policy if no one knows which tools they can use or what information they shouldn’t enter. <\/p>\n\n

      A brief, understandable internal guide adapted to daily work<\/strong> is usually much more useful than an eternal document that no one consults.<\/p>\n\n

      6. Use artificial intelligence to reclaim time, not to fill it<\/h2>\n\n

      When a technology allows us to perform a task faster, we have two options: reclaim that time or use it to do even more things<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      The second option is tempting, but it’s not always the smartest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      AI can also create a new kind of tiredness: more results to review, more content, more notifications, and more small decisions throughout the day<\/strong>. Recent research is already beginning to describe this AI fatigue<\/strong> as a cognitive and emotional drain associated with the constant need to give instructions, monitor, and correct generative systems. <\/p>\n\n

      Automating should serve to reduce noise and protect time for concentration, creativity, and rest<\/strong>. If a solution forces us to be more attentive to technology than before, perhaps it’s not yet well resolved<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

      7. Disconnecting is also a technological decision<\/h2>\n\n

      Not everything needs to be automated. Not every moment needs digital assistance. And not every question requires an immediate answer. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

      Leaving spaces without notifications, tools, or constant generation also helps us regain perspective<\/strong>. The ideas that define a strategy, a brand, or a project don’t always appear in front of a screen<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

      The humanist discourse around AI is not about rejecting technology, but about placing it in the right spot<\/strong>. It means remembering that the purpose is not to produce more content, more data, or more processes, but to build organizations that work better for people<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

      At DMS3 we defend this idea as a kind of Renaissance 2.0: reconnecting technology, creativity, knowledge, and responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      8. Return in September with a question, not with ten tools<\/h2>\n\n

      During the summer you can take the opportunity to observe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      Which tasks are repeated too much? Where is information lost? Which inquiries consume the most time? Which processes depend excessively on one person? Which data lives disconnected on different platforms? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

      This list will be much more valuable than any collection of trendy tools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      From there, you can analyze where it makes sense to apply artificial intelligence, automate processes, create agents, connect platforms, or redesign a digital experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      Because the question is not how much AI a company can incorporate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      The question is what AI can help it function better without losing what makes it human<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

      AI can also slow things down<\/h2>\n\n

      Perhaps surviving a summer with artificial intelligence isn’t about turning off all devices or returning in September having tried every new thing.<\/p>\n\n

      Perhaps it consists of gaining distance, separating the noise from real opportunities<\/strong> and remembering that technology must be at the service of our time, our decisions, and the people who form the organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
